Master of Church Music - Courses
Church Music Curriculum
lives of people and impact His church through the ages. This takes a clear look at  the roles of
the musician, the role of different types of music, and the necessity for training and nurturing.


    Advanced Applied Area
    (12 Credits per module --2 modules --18 weeks each)

    These private applied lessons are designed to solidify skills in the major area of applied
    study.


    * Advanced Composition / or Composing and Arranging Techniques for the
    Worshipping Church / Computer Project - Cubase Program
    (4 Credits per module --4 modules --9 weeks each)

    This course is specifically designed to utilize essential styles and forms of composition or
    praise and worship music to be used in current worship services. Advanced composition
    would include writing solo music for introit, preludes, and offertories. Composing and
    arranging would include writing new praise and worship songs and/or arranging existing
    songs for the instruments and worship team in that local church where the musician
    serves. Cubase is a computer software program for arranging, composing, and scoring
    music and includes computerized sound studio for those who desire the produce their
    own Compact Discs


    * Independent Study
    (8 Credits --1 module --9 weeks)

    This is an advanced worship and musical drama project. This is a specific project to
    incorporate the Word and music to present in a worship service. These are done to
    support what is being preached by the Pastor.

    * Study of Worship Evangelism in Today Church
    (8 Credits --1 --18 weeks)

    This can be done as an independent study course. Must be completed within 18 weeks.

    This course is designed to provide an overview of how music can be utilized dynamically
    in outreach, music for different age groups, and the impact of truly anointed music in the
    current Church setting. It is necessary for the church musician to know many styles of in

    such as solos, ensemble, and choirs. In other words, it is the study of what music to use
    in the right place and  at the right time. Much of this course can be done by interviewing
    church musicians from denominational and non-denominational churches.


    * Church Music Project / or Masters Recital
    (16 Credits --1 --18 weeks)
    (In lieu of written or oral exam.)

    Must be approved by faculty advisor. Church Music Project.


    * The Role of the Church Musicians
    (4 Credits --1 module --9 weeks)

    This course is designed to show the proper relationship between the church musician
    and the Pastor. It calls for the enrichment of the personal, spiritual life and the ongoing
    development of the personal quality and attitudes that are essential in the service of the
    Lord. This study goes beyond the skill and into the heart of the worshipper /musician. It
    exemplifies a life-style of honor, worship and praise.


    Master Practicum
    (4 Credits each --2 modules --9 weeks each)

    Supervised work in a church setting. This develops the personal qualities essential to
    success and Godly service in church ministry. On site only.



    Required Credits: 88

    * Denotes course that can bed one as supervised Independent Study.

    Appointments for all independent study projects must be on-site at the Main Campus in
    Titusville, Florida. Subsequent appointments will be set at that time. Time necessary for
    initial planning varies from one day to one week.
